  • QualChoice
  • Ambetter

In Kristen's words

"I am in network with BCBS, QualChoice, and Ambetter and will happily provide a superbill for out of network benefits (which are often more affordable than in-network!). I also offer a self-pay rate."

Kristen I. Speer, LPC

Out of network

Plan not on the list? You still have options.

How a superbill works

A superbill is a receipt for sessions you've already paid for, with the details your insurance company asks for. You send it to your insurer. They apply it to your out-of-network benefits, and any money they pay back goes to you, not to the practice.

Your plan decides what it pays back, how much, and how fast. So the answer to "what will I get back" comes from your insurer. Call the member services number on your insurance card to find out.

Looking into EMDR too? The EMDR therapy page explains it in plain language.

Self-pay

Paying without insurance.

Kristen offers a self-pay rate. Use it if you're out of network, between plans, or you'd rather leave insurance out of it.

Ask for the current rate on your free 15-minute consultation. Bring any other cost questions too.

Common questions

Insurance and payment questions.

Does Kristen take BCBS?

Yes. Kristen is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas, QualChoice and Ambetter. Plans differ even within one carrier, so check your own benefits before your first session.

What if my plan isn't one of the three?

You have two options. Kristen will give you a superbill to send your insurer for out-of-network benefits, or you can pay her self-pay rate. Your plan decides what, if anything, it pays back, so ask your insurer about out-of-network benefits first.

Can I pay with an HSA card?

Yes. Kristen accepts HSA cards, plus American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, cash and check.
